Aims & objectivesWe provide a hand up to those going from homelessness into their first tenancy by providing a starter pack of basic items such as crockery, bedding, pots & pans, cleaning products and toiletries. This helps those starting out to be more equipped to maintain their tenancy and have a comfortable quality of living. We use donations from the public for the majority of items in our starter packs, thereby diverting many tonnes from landfill each year.

The main role will be assisting with the Van Crew. Helping with collections of donations, delivering our Starter Packs to clients and also delivering furniture and items sold in the two Starter Packs shops to our customers. Helping with loading and unloading the van, carrying furniture and goods to and from donators houses to the van and into our storage areas at the organisation.
Helping with the organisation of delivery and collection scheduling. Telephoning clients and customers to arrange or confirm collection and delivery times.
General assisting duties would involve helping move stock and donated items around the shop front areas. Removing sold items from the shop floor and putting them in storage until delivery. Moving new items in tot he shop when there is appropriate space. Helping to keep our back shop storage areas clear and tidy. Moving items for our starter packs from the donations centre to the pack room in the office.
We are also keen to put the successful candidate through PAT Test training and have them working in the stockroom PAT testing donated electrical items which are both used in our starter packs and also sold via our two shops.
We feel this would give a varied amount of different work roles within the organisation to give the successful candidate good experience.
