Aims & objectives

The Association's objects shall be: To provide regular activities that will advance education and learning principally for children and young people that will support their development, increase their skills and extend their outlook (being successful learners) through: A) Providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment. B) Providing arts, science and ICT activities. C) Providing age appropriate activities in selective age groups. D) Providing a 'means' for young people to express their ideas and feelings. E) Involving young people in the decision making process. F) Raising awareness of and challenging bullying and discrimination. G) Encouraging all the participants to work co-operatively as a team. H) Encouraging the creative use of ICT in arts based projects. I) Promoting a mutually respective environment. J) Having an inclusive ethos to underpin the work of the organisation. K) Building confidence through performance and appropriate praise.

Job description

Youth Drumming sessions

a) To work with colleagues in the delivery of the Drum Club Project

b) To support young people with activities

c) To ensure that drums are in working order and assist with repairs

d) To keep register of young people attending sessions (with other staff)

e) To raise any concerns with group leader

f) To evaluate youth drumming sessions (with other staff)

Associated administration tasks

a) To keep project spreadsheet (Excel) up to date (with other staff)

b) To support the management of Social Media accounts

Person specification

• Passion and enthusiasm for youth work/ music

• Ability to communicate with young people

• Able to cope positively with new challenges

• Able to work in a team

• Good IT skills

• Able to show initiative and contribute fully to the project
