Aims & objectives

Linlithgow Community Development Trust (LCDT) has been formed to benefit the community of Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge by building a resilient, inclusive, enterprising and sustainable community capable of dealing with ongoing change. The Company has the following objects: A) To develop/provide facilities and activities which meet the needs of the Community and generally improve the quality of life of residents. B) To advance citizenship and community development, promoting civic responsibility and supporting the development of the voluntary sector within the Community. C) To advance the heritage and/or preserve, for the benefit of the general public, the historical, architectural and constructional heritage that exists in the Community. D) To advance environmental protection and improvement in the Community. E) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other similar schemes and projects of a charitable nature for the benefit of the Community. All of the above shall be carried out following principles of sustainable development where 'sustainable development' means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Job description

This is a great opportunity to work with Linlithgow Community Development Trust. Our aim is ‘To make Linlithgow a better place to live and work, through a community led plan of action which provides services, amenities and/or financial support to local initiatives.’

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for a marketing administration assistant to promote the work of our charity and particularly of opportunities to get involved in Linlithgow life. This role will play a key part in the development of an online portal (website) which will cover some key areas – a community directory of all the local groups, what’s on section covering events and activities and local volunteering opportunities. This position will gather content, update and administer content provided by local groups to ensure that the portal remains current and up to date.

The role is varied by includes:

• Liaising with local community groups and charities (by e-mail, on the phone and in person) to gather content for the website

• Updating and posting this content on the website working in a Content Management System (Wordpress)

• With support creating flyers/posters, newsletters and social media content to promote the website

• Commit and adhere to LCDT’s values and principles of working together and being a team player

• Adhere to our standards, policies and procedures and at all times.

• Any other reasonable duties within the scope of the role.
