PUSH = People United for Special Housing. PUSH set out as a parent-led organisation concerned about quality lives for men and women in Perth & Kinross who have a learning disability label. PUSH is concerned about how and where people with learning disablities live. Job description
Working in a recycling environment the employee will work as part of a team cataloguing furniture, other large and/or outdoor items that are donated or obtained from a serviced container or house clearance. The cataloguing will involve taking photos, measurements and writing a short descriptive that related to the item. Moving and handling furniture and other large items (some heavy). Collecting and delivering furniture, serving customers in the warehouse and while out on deliveries, plus other tasks deemed necessary by the warehouse supervisor.
If the employee has a clean driving licience they may be responsible for driving the PUSH van.
If the employee has upcycling knowledge then this will be used to upcycle the furniture and instruct others on these methods.
Person specification
PUSH is looking for someone who is creative, patient, tolerant, reliable and open-minded, who can use their own initiative and is not afraid to take responsibility, can work flexible hours when required, who likes a challenge, who enjoys working with people, who is a good listener and someone who is passionate about ‘inclusion’ for people with learning disabilities.
Driving licence preferred but not essential.
Knowledge of upcycling preferred but not essential.
