Aims & objectives

Objectives To further the interests of deaf-blind persons by every means and in every way open to the Lease. Deafblind to include those substantially deprived of sight and hearing. Activities Doers Group - organised activities for members in Glasgow area. Runs a guide communicator service for deafblind people all over Scotland.

on a week where a Saturday is worked, a day off will be given during the week. All working arrangements are flexible and subject to alteration in order to suit the needs and requirements of the charity

Job description

This opportunity is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in fundraising.

Duties will include

Supporting the deafblind penalty kicks initiative by attending football matches and co-ordinating the event’s activity

Providing administrative support for our fundraising events including poster development, collecting donations, making up goody bags, event set up and tidy up

Fundraising support and encouragement to event participants including attending events such as the Kiltwalk and ‘cheering on’ participants

Providing administrative trusts and foundations support, including mail merges of letters to trusts.

Support the set-up and clear-up of activities

Assist tutors by supporting members to participate in activities

Welcome and support members to the centre offering teas/coffee/

Support outreach events by accompanying development officer

Supporting collection opportunities and maintaining static cans at businesses etc

Person specification

Strong organisational, multi-tasking and administrative skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

PVG/disclosure requirements

Required - Cannot start until successful Disclosure/PVG scheme membership is received
