700 funded job opportunities available through Community Jobs Scotland

Today I feel like a rocket engineer at Nasa does before lift-off. After months of preparation, I’m delighted to say that we’ve launched phase seven of the CJS employment programme.   Now into its seventh year, CJS has created more than 7,600 jobs in Scottish charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. This time round, we’re providing a total of 700 funded opportunities for unemployed young people aged 16-29. The jobs enable charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises to increase capacity, while giving a potentially life-changing opportunity to individuals who are most disadvantaged in the labour market, including:
  • disabled people
  • care experienced young people
  • carers
  • Armed Forces early service leavers
  • young people with convictions
What’s more, the jobs can be created in any part of Scotland’s vibrant third sector, including:
  • Sports and leisure organisations
  • Arts and culture organisations
  • Community development trusts
  • Housing associations
  • And many, many more.
Each CJS job generates a variety of socio-economic benefits, while making a positive impact on individuals, communities and wider society. So what are you waiting for? If your organisation wants to get in on the action, head over to our website and find out how to host a CJS employee. Please note that online registration for new employers should be completed by Friday 19 May. Employers who have previously registered don’t have to complete a new registration, but they do need to submit a new job description. If you need any help please call our helpline on 0141 559 5026.
